Welcome to Theory Nova - your one stop shop for theorizing and discussion pertaining to Fox's new show Terra Nova. I'm your host, Mike. You may remember me from such blogs as "The LOST Forum" and "Dr. Fringe". Now I turn my keen theorizing eye backwards 85 billion years to the land of Terra Nova.
Unlike my past blogs rather than give a witty recap of the episode I think I'm just going to dive into the questions the premier rose as well as some theories as to what will happen as the season goes on. Pardon me for forgetting pretty much everyone's name in the show thus far except for Taylor...
1. Who funded Wife's jail break of Hot Headed Husband Guy? I doubt she got all that cash, fancy laser cutter, and an all access pass to the jail just cause she was a good doctor. Me thinks she was funded by the mysterious cabal behind the Sixers. As the season goes on we're going to see in the 2 years since Husband was jailed she's been getting pretty tight with the Mystery Cabal and definitely has some ulterior motives for going to Terra Nova.
2. What's up with all those wacky drawings at the waterfall? At the end of the episode we find out that Taylor's son leaves them there as a personal f you to his dad. I think they're fancy scientific equations show that their timeline is not a off shoot of Crappy Future's but the same. Taylor has been directed by an equally shady mystery cabal to do things in the past with the explicit purpose of manipulating the future and I don't think it's supposed to fix the future. No it is to ensure that Shady Mystery Cabal has ultimate power in the future. And who's fighting them in the future? The Sixer Cabal.
3. What's up with the Sixers? They are set up to be the bad guys so obviously they are going to be the good guys right? They are like LOST's Others and Taylor's son is Ben Linus with a piece of that street chalk. Trouble Making Bikini Girl is their inside man at Terra Nova. She probably went over to them after her parents died. Due to fever? I think not. Taylor probably was responsible and watches out for her because he feels guilty. Or perhaps because he knows she's a traitor...
4. I already am sick of Whiny Teenage Son. Your dad swung at a police officer to protect your baby sister. Man what a dick!
5. Taylor was alone in dinoland for 118 days before the next batch of folks went thru the portal. Or so he says...could there be more that came with him and they have a secret base elsewheres that nobody but Taylor knows about?
